Install inner shield (8) to center shaft (3), securing
with two screws (6).
Using snap ring plier, install the inner retaining
ring (5) in the inner groove of the center shaft (3).
Support the center shaft (3) on end with the hex
opening on top. Place the assembled clutch hous-
ing (4) and ball bearing (14), over the center shaft
and gently tap on the face of the clutch housing
to seat the ball bearing onto the center shaft. The
clutch housing is installed when the groove for re-
taining ring (1) is exposed.
Install dust cover (2), with outside lip down, in
bore of clutch housing (4). Gently tap in place

hex opening in clutch center shaft hub and en-
gage key in hex opening of the inner locking plug.
Turn key clockwise to tighten the locking plug
against end of crankshaft.
If the engine has been replaced or re-in-
stalled, it will be necessary to loosen the
engine mounting screws and shift the en-
gine assembly on the engine base as nec-
essary to allow pulley alignment.

torque mounting screws to 31-35 ft-lbs (43-48
