WARNING
Severe burns may result in handling of
heated bearing race. Heated bearing
race is very hot, protective gloves and
tongs should be used for retrieval of
bearing race and handling.

Slide inner bearing race over tapered end of
crankshaft (4) with bearing lip leading, and
press the bearing (3) onto crankshaft (4) with
arbor press and 36mm I.D pressing sleeve
Seat bearing (3) fully against shoulder.

Replace the crankshaft gear (5) as follows:

Using bearing separator from puller kit, pull
the crankshaft gear (5) from crankshaft (4)
WARNING
P-D-680, Type III, is moderately toxic to
the skin, eyes and respiratory tract;
avoid prolonged exposure. Skin and
eye protection is required. Good ventila-
tion is required. Do not use-near open
flame or excessive heat. Flash point is
200°F (93.3°C).
4. Clean reusable components in dry cleaning sol-
vent and dry thoroughly.

sult if personnel fail to handle diesel
fuel oil properly. Observe the following
precautions.
Do not inhale vapor.
Work in a well-ventilated area.
Do not use near open flame; sparks,
or excessive heat.
crankshaft (4) at bearing journals until surface is
polished smooth.

Install key (6) in key slot of crankshaft (4).

Heat crankshaft gear (5) on a hot plate, or equiva-
lent, to a temperature of 195 - 210°F (90 - 100°C).

Position crankshaft (4) in arbor press and align
crankshaft gear (5) key slot with key (6) installed
in crankshaft. With a 30mm O.D. pressing sleeve,
press gear onto crankshaft until seated against
shoulder.
NOTE
5. If crankshaft (4) is reusable, but has slight imper-
fection on bearing journals, remove them with cro-
cus cloth wet with W-F-800 diesel fuel oil. Work
wet crocus cloth evenly around circumference of
