Model Number and Equipment Name: RC48-2 Tam-
per, Vibrating Type, Internal Combustion Engine
Driven. The common name used throughout this man-
ual is Compactor.
Purpose of Equipment: Compacts soil, sand, gravel
and aggregate in trenches, curbs, and backfill situ-
ations. Provides easy maneuverability, even in re-
stricted areas.
1-2. MAINTENANCE FORMS AND RECORDS
Department of the Army forms and procedures used
for equipment maintenance will be those prescribed
by DA Pam 738-750 as contained in the Maintenance
Management Update.
