Loosen screw of stop bolt (1).
Pry triangle lock ring (2) from end of cable (3) cas-
ing tip and pull cable free of stop bolt (1) and
bracket (19) on engine. Discard the triangle lock
ring (2).
Remove locknut (4), flat washer (5) and clamp
(6). Discard the locknut.
Remove hex nut (8), lockwasher (9), capscrew
(7) and clamp (10) from guide bar.
Remove two hex nuts (11), lockwashers (12),
capscrews (13), flat washers (14) and the throttle
control (15) from guide bar.
Loosen the two set screws (17) near the base of
handle on throttle control (15). Pull the throttle ca-
ble from the control, being careful not to pull the
cable completely out of the casing.
Loosen the jam nut of connector assembly (16)
and remove the connector assembly from the
throttle control (15).
WARNING
P-D-680, Type Ill, is moderately toxic to
the skin, eyes and respiratory tract;
avoid prolonged exposure. Skin and
eye protection is required. Good ventila-
tion is required. Do not use near open
flame or excessive heat. Flash point is
200° F (93.3° C).

Clean the cable assembly (3) and throttle control
(15) with a rag dampened with dry cleaning sol-
vent and dry thoroughly.

Clean all other parts in dry cleaning solvent and
dry thoroughly.

Inspect cable (3) for damage to casing, or for
bent condition, Inspect flexible cable for damaged
or frayed ends.

Inspect throttle control (15) for damage or free-
wheeling of control (control will not hold its posi-
tion).
