Equipment Condition
Compactor set on level ground in a protected area
Engine off.
General Safety Instructions

Remove the compression release (Para 5-10)
3.
Crank the engine until the piston reaches the bot-
tom of its stroke.
4. Remove the cylinder (1) by lifting the cylinder off
the piston.

If replacement is necessary remove studs (2
and 3).
CLEANING
W A R N I N G
P-D-680. Type III, is moderately toxic to
the skin, eyes and respiratory tract;
avoid prolonged exposure. Skin and
eye protection is required. Good ventila-
tion is required. Do not use near open
flame or excessive heat. Flash point is
200° F (93.3° C).
1. Clean the parts in dry cleaning solvent and dry
thoroughly.
2. Ensure that any carbon deposits around top edge
of cylinder bore are removed.
