Place throttle control to full speed position

Turn decompression knob to neutral position.

Crank the engine approximately 20 times

Place throttle control to the stop position.

Close air intake and exhaust openings with mois-
ture proof tape.
j.
Stow the compactor in an area protected from
the elements.
NOTE
If compactor is to be in storage for periods
longer than 3 months, repeat steps e.
through j. every 3 months.
k.
Before returning compactor to service, drain the
preservative oil and service the engine
(Para 4-12).
4-45. SHIPMENT

Close air intake and exhaust openings with mois-
ture proof tape.

Tape the engine crank handle in place on the
guide bar.
c.
Attach to the compactor all forms, tags, and re-
cords applicable to the unit.
W A R N I N G
Do not allow personnel to stand under
a hoisted compactor. Injury or death
may occur should hoist or lifting sling
fail and the compactor falls.

A lifting point is provided at the top of the protec-
tion frame for the purpose of attaching a lifting de-
vice capable of lifting 400 pounds.
e.
Load compactor on carrier and attach shipping
tiedowns.
