CLEANING

P-D-680, Type III, is moderately toxic to
the skin, eyes and respiratory tract;
avoid prolonged exposure. Skin and
eye protection is required. Good ventila-
tion is required. Do not use near open
flame or excessive heat. Flash point is
200° F (93.3° C).

Clean all parts in dry cleaning solvent and dry
thoroughly.

Visually inspect all parts for signs of broken or de-
formed condition. Replace any defective part.
Inspect governor arm (5) for cracks. Replace a
cracked governor arm.
Using vernier caliper, measure diameter of speed
control shaft (12) between preformed packing
groove and threaded end. Replace shaft if worn
to less than 0.6299 in. (16.000 mm).
Inspect threaded fasteners for stripped threads or
other damage. Replace damaged fasteners.
